What is the 80KM in July Challenge

This month as a company we will be taking part in the 80 km in July challenge in aid of Women’s Aid.

The aim of the challenge is to complete 80 km over the 31 one days by either walking, running, cycling or whatever mode you like once you can reach that all important 80 km.

Women’s aid is a great organisation who have been providing services to women and children since 1975. We are delighted to be able to help raise some money while getting active.

The challenge starts today but it is not too late to join, if you are interested you can find out more information here, or register for your starter pack. https://www.womensaid.ie/support/fundraising/walk-for-women.html

Why we decided to take part

With the majority of the team still working from home, it is difficult to emulate that office chat and team atmosphere you get from being in one location. Hosting physical events is restricted by our ability to maintain a social distance, so a challenge like this is allowing us to be a part of something other than work, while raising money for a great cause. It is encouraging us to get active during the day which is so important when so much of it is spent sitting at desks.

Who is taking part

Taking part in the challenge we have a team of 12, ranging from the avid marathon runners and triathletes, to the casual walkers, each encouraging the other.
