SHOULD ASK QUESTIONS

At Premium Power, we believe in transparency and helping our customers make informed choices. To assist you in your decision-making process, we've compiled a list of common questions you should consider asking when choosing an engineering consultancy. These questions will help you better understand our offerings and ensure they meet your needs. If you can't find an answer to your specific question here, feel free to contact our team for assistance.

What sets our studies apart from the competition?

Power systems are too detailed and complicated to not dedicate your full focus to. Unlike our competitors, we are a team of 30 engineers solely dedicated to solving electrical engineering problems. Our core services are power systems modelling, power quality, power monitoring, electrical safety, and R&D which gives us the ability to prevent electrical engineering issues rather than reacting only when an issue has occurred.

As an independent provider, we assess the best tools and technology on the market, and will only recommend what we know will work for you.

Your understanding is our priority and our team will take you every step of the way, ensuring you understand what you are seeing and that you’re getting the information you are looking for.

What is your company's background and experience in the industry?

Premium Power was founded in 2001 and has gone on to build a high-profile list of clients in the pharmaceutical, data centre, manufacturing, utilities, and renewables industries.

We use specialist studies and the expert knowledge of our Power Engineers to design solutions that solve some of our client’s most highly-technical challenges. We have a team of 30 across three disciplines; electrical engineering, power quality, and power monitoring. We are ISO 45001 and 9001 certified and are Schneider Electrical Critical Masters for Power Management.

Can I see examples or case studies of your work?

Yes, we have a wide variety of case studies across a number of industries showcasing our solutions to address our client’s concerns.

Case Studies

I am not an engineer myself, can you explain the issue in plain language?

Yes of course – your understanding is our priority. We are here to bridge the knowledge gap for you. Whether it’s something you are unfamiliar with, or you need to explain it to other departments or stakeholders within your organisation, we are here to ensure everyone is on the same page and has full transparency of what is happening or what needs to happen. If you have a number of contractors that work on your site we can also help facilitate communication to ensure a successful outcome for all parties involved.

What is the pricing structure for your products/services?

Our prices are developed on a case-by-case basis. Every proposal we issue is tailored entirely to your needs and requirements which then forms the basis of the cost. We are more than happy to work within budgets and create a package that works for you. Having conducted extensive competitor analysis, we know our prices are fairly match for the quality of work and level of service you will receive.

Are there any ongoing maintenance or service requirements for your products/services?

For any of our services or products, we can provide you with a maintenance agreement to ensure the effectiveness of the product/service. Any hardware we supply comes with a manufacturer guarantee which we will deal with on your behalf. Where we build and develop your model we can maintain it and make adjustments as changes are made on site.

Where do you work?

Our main headquarters is in Dublin, Ireland and we have an additional office in the UK. The vast bulk of our work is based in Ireland and the UK due to the large number of pharmaceuticals and data centres in these regions. We work across Europe, particularly on data centre projects. To date, we have completed or are working on projects in Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany and Italy. We have also undertaken some work outside of the EU including Chile, Brazil, Japan, and Malaysia.

What are your energy efficiency and renewable energy usage initiatives?

Reducing CO2 emissions is at the forefront of our business processes and is why we endeavour to assist our clients in achieving their sustainability goals so that we can all work together towards a more sustainable future. In particular, PME (our power monitoring software) and our power monitoring meters can assist you in determining where energy savings can be made and where you might be suffering from inefficiencies. We can also help with the integration of renewable power to site, and tracking your key energy metrics.

What specific tools, technologies, or methodologies are you experienced in using?

Our team uses SKM power modelling software, as well as, ETAP and DigSilent, and PME power monitoring software. We are experts in Schneider Electrics ION power meters, as well as, Elspec, Dranetz, and PQube. We also possess extensive knowledge of the Schaffner Active and Passive harmonic filters.

We have built up an extensive equipment library over the past 20 years which allows us to create rapid yet precise models(ISO quality certified).

How do we manage complicated projects with numerous stakeholders?

We agree on process flow and functions at the beginning of a project ensuring clarity on roles, timelines, and any roadblocks. Everyone knows their roles, timelines, and responsibilities. This has proven to be a great project management tool ensuring jobs are delivered on time and to standard.
