Premium Power is an electrical engineering consultancy specialising in power systems, electrical safety and arc flash. We provide safe, reliable and cost effective solutions for the data centre, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, utilities and renewable industries.

BACKGROUND

Founded in 2001, the company has built a high-profile list of clients in the pharmaceutical, data centre, manufacturing, utilities and renewables industries. Maintenance managers, engineers and health and safety officers within these organisations seek the help of our expert team to solve their ongoing electrical issues.

We use specialist studies and the expert knowledge of our power engineers to design solutions that solve some of our clients most highly-technical challenges. Our headquarters are in Dublin but we have the ability to service companies all over the world.

MEET THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

  • Paula O'Neill

    Managing Director

    Paula has been with Premium Power since its inception and played a key role in technical consulting and solution development. With previous experience in chemical and telecoms industries, Paula specialises in delivering innovative digital solutions supporting the modernisation and enhancement of electrical infrastructure.
    Key interests in asset optimisation, enhanced system reliability and worker safety by development of digital twin models and data analysis has ensured that Premium Power can help companies optimise and manage their electrical assets.
    Paula holds a PhD from University of Limerick and is an Information Technology graduate of Maynooth University.

  • Michal Sopocko

    Engineering Director

    Michal has been with the company since 2010 and has played a key role in our growth as a company and in the services we offer.
    As an experienced electrical power quality and design engineer Michal brings a high level of knowledge and experience that he has utilised to meet our client’s needs on projects such as: Commissioning of power monitoring equipment, integration of power monitoring systems, site surveys, troubleshooting and identification of electrical faults, project managing the installation, design and commissioning of harmonic filtering solutions, preparation and issuing of method statements, risk assessments and much more.
    He is heavily focused on researching new solutions and technologies and the implementation of safety procedures and quality standards.

  • Alan O'Kelly

    Head of Sustainable Solutions

    Alan has been a director at Premium Power since 2008. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Computer System Engineering in 1994, continuing his educational development with a Post Grad Diploma in International Sales, and is currently studying for a Masters in Power system engineering out of the University of Manchester.
    Alan plays a key role in leading our utility data analytics projects in the areas of grid network compliance and voltage quality as well energy analysis and efficiency.
    Alan has a keen interest in safety, reliability and voltage quality in industrial and utility electrical systems and is one of our registered safety training providers.

  • George Mokl

    Engineering Manager & Director

    George has been with Premium Power since 2014. He is an experienced Power Quality and Lead Electrical Engineer working with data centres, pharmaceutical sites as well as utilities and renewable developers.
    He was involved in numerous power quality investigations, mitigation design and commissioning including passive and active harmonic filters as well as delivering various non-standard projects which involved advanced electrical testing and troubleshooting of equipment. He is a specialist in electrical power system modelling for the purpose of power system analysis, power quality, harmonics, safety (arc flash) design and renewable integration.
    He also contributed to the development of the company's internal project management system as well as taking a key role in training junior engineers on power system analysis.
    George holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Power Systems with an emphasis on Power Quality

  • Barry Nicholson

    Engineering Manager & Director

    Barry has been with Premium Power since 2014 and has significantly
    contributed to the growth and development of the company. As an experienced
    Lead Electrical Engineer having worked on studies such as Electrical Design
    and Power Systems, he has delivered high quality projects to some of our key Data
    Center and Pharmaceutical clients.
    Having a keen interest in project management, Barry understands the importance of delivering projects on time and to the high standard that is expected of our clients. Barry understands the importance of electrical safety and is one of the main contributors to developing electrical risk assessments / procedures and delivering awareness training to our clients.
