As we bid farewell to 2023 and welcome a new chapter, it’s time to take a look back at the highlights, achievements, and memorable moments that have shaped Premium Power’s journey.
This year has been exceptionally busy, but we thrive on pushing our limits, engaging with people, and fostering continuous learning.
Data Centre World
In our first year at Data Centre World in Frankfurt, we were thrilled to share our expertise, presenting on ‘The Drive for Energy Efficiency and its Negative Impact on Power Quality.’ A summary of our presentation is available here.
Launched Design Services
With over two decades of advocating for safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems, we decided it was time to leverage our expertise by delving into designing electrical systems. Teaming up with our preferred M&E consultant, we now offer clients a comprehensive service, designing, planning, and implementing electrical/mechanical systems that adhere to the highest standards of functionality, safety, and energy efficiency. More details can be found here.
This year, we placed a significant focus on training and development for our team, completing over 1,100 training sessions between us. Some were delivered remotely, some in-house bespoke through external providers, and some, we travelled to Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
Topics of Discussion
Throughout the year, we delved into several key topics which included:
Corporate Social Responsibility
Our commitment to giving back continued this year as we participated in Engineers Week visiting local schools to promote STEM education. We provided sponsorship to the local football club, TUD Electrical & Electronic Graduate Awards, and the top prize to TUD students for their poster projects. We assisted a local school with their Engineers Ireland Young Engineers Award entries and supported numerous charities. Additional details can be found on our CSR page.
PME underwent a significant evolution this year with the launch of PME 2023, featuring a range of exciting enhancements:
- Introducing a new graphic editor to elevate the software’s visual appeal and enhance the complexity of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
- Implementing stricter protocols to guarantee secure encryption when connecting to the power monitoring server.
- Enhancing the capability to drill down into data, allowing for more precise analysis over specific time periods.
- Strengthening password security measures to align with the latest cyber security standards.
More info on PME can be found here.
Stand Out Project
With a total of 170 projects completed this year, ranging from Arc Flash Studies, load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination, we witnessed a notable increase in the installation of battery energy storage systems and the utilisation of renewable energy. One standout project was shortlisted as the Engineering Project of the Year at the Pharma Industry Awards. Read more about that project below.
Projects were completed for sites throughout Ireland, as well as the UK, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Chile, Japan, and USA.
As we conclude this Year, we express our gratitude to all our valued customers who contributed to our success. We remain committed to excellence, innovation, and making a positive impact. Here’s to another year of growth, collaboration, and success!
