Upon completion of a Protective Device Coordination study, we were tasked with project managing the implementation of the proposed settings on the MV relays and main LV incomers to enhance reliability.

As a result of the protection coordination study, we proposed making changes to the settings on site. This needed to be done live and required project management from an experienced team who have completed tasks like this before.
- We led discussions with the client and contractor to develop a plan to safely and reliably complete the project.
- We were on site to supervise the implementation of the protection settings, and managed the project documentation to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality were adhered to.
Project Challenges
After conducting an arc flash study for this client we identified a number of problems with the protection coordination. It was decided that the best option would be to carry out a protection coordination study to fully grasp the extent of the issues.
Project Outcomes
Protection settings throughout the MV network and main LV incomers were successfully updated to enhance coordination between devices. Coordination issues throughout the network were eliminated, resulting in a reduced risk of potentially costly outages.
