This training course is aimed at employers, managers, safety and health practitioners, and principal duty holders under the CER scheme for registration of electrical contractors.
Safety, health and welfare at work legislation imposes numerous duties on employers, directors, managers or other persons who authorise or direct any work activities, regardless of the size of an undertaking. It is vital therefore that all such persons understand their legal duties, so that they will make informed and responsible decisions.
Although, the focus of this course is legal duties in so far as they relate to electricity, some of those duties are not exclusive to work involving electricity. The training course also addresses both the criminal and civil the liabilities of employers and managers. Training will include discussion of notable case law. And so, delegates will acquire information that is universally applicable to the management of safety, health and welfare at work, and not merely applicable to the area of electricity.
On completion of the course, participants will understand
- the dangers posed by electricity in the workplace
- the legal duties relating to work involving the use of electricity
- their organisations and their own individual liabilities under criminal prosecution and civil claims for damages
