Starting your engineering career is a big leap, but for our recent graduate engineers, joining Premium Power has been a jump straight into a world of opportunity, innovation, and support.
Meet Aleksandra, Jack, and Lana — three of our graduate engineers who took different paths through college but landed in the same place: a team that challenges and empowers them every day.
A Strong Start with the Right Support
Each graduate came from a different background — Aleksandra from Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Jack from Mechatronics, and Lana from Sustainable Energy, but were all drawn in by the same core values — deep technical learning, real responsibility, and a culture that values curiosity and collaboration.
“The support from senior engineers was immediate,” says Aleksandra. “Even in the early stages, I was encouraged to get involved in all parts of a project, from modelling and analysis to reporting, always with guidance and mentorship that helped me learn by doing.”
Premium Power offers a robust onboarding experience, with training materials, internal resources, and above all, access to experienced engineers who genuinely care. “There’s always someone to answer a question,” Jack shares. “That access to expertise is rare, and it really accelerated my learning.”
From the Classroom to Real Impact
At Premium Power, graduates are welcomed into meaningful project work from day one to learn, contribute, and grow under the guidance of experienced engineers. Aleksandra began developing her skills in protection coordination and arc flash analysis, learning through hands-on tasks alongside her mentors. Lana shared a similar experience, noting how her team helped her build confidence as she gradually got involved in tasks like learning how to navigate complex project documentation. For Jack, learning was a team effort, with colleagues helping him deepen his understanding of automation systems and industry communication protocols.
“You quickly go from watching training videos to providing real solutions,” Jack explains. “I like high-pressure learning, and this environment gave me space to rise to the challenge.”
Mentorship That Makes a Difference
Learning on the job is encouraged, and help is never far away. Whether in the office or remote, senior engineers are accessible and generous with their time.
“Having mentors that show you not just what to do, but how to think — that’s made all the difference,” Aleksandra shared.
More Than Technical Growth
While technical development is at the heart of the Premium Power graduate experience, it doesn’t stop there. All three grads highlighted their growth in communication, project management, and teamwork — essential skills for well-rounded engineers.
“There’s a big emphasis on sharing knowledge,” Lana says. “When there’s a challenge, everyone puts their heads together. That kind of collaboration makes you feel like you’re really part of something bigger.”
Culture That Builds Confidence
From team events to a flexible hybrid work environment, Premium Power’s culture is described as positive, energetic, and empowering. “It’s a fun place to work,” says Jack. “There’s always a laugh, but it’s professional when it needs to be.
Lana agrees: “I never feel nervous about asking questions — everyone’s genuinely happy to help”
A Launchpad for the Future
Each graduate sees Premium Power as more than a first job — it’s a platform for growth. With increasing responsibility and a constant stream of challenges, they’re becoming confident professionals equipped with real-world skills that matter.
So if you’re a curious, motivated graduate looking for an engineering role that will push you to grow and support you while you do, Premium Power might just be where your career takes off.
